Budget Plans
Our Budget plan runs from April through March. Please note that Modern Gas Sales has a payment due date on the 15th of each month. If more than two payments are missed within the budget calendar year your participation in the plan will cease. Also, please know that credit accumulated is designated for gas deliveries only.
Pre-Buy Gas Sales
The pre-buy program is offered for a limited time each year and is based on your previous year’s usage. Please contact your local office or fill out the below form to request pre-buy information when it becomes available.
How it works
Call a Modern Gas Sales representative at your local office and we will determine your previous years gallon usage. We then will calculate the current pre-buy price per gallon and multiply that price by your gallons. You will then be required to send in full payment within 10 business days from the date your pre-buy contract goes out. Once your payment is received your contract gas will be applied to your account.
If I move or no longer use propane, will I get a refund?
There are no refunds on pre-buy propane. If you move, we would suggest that you add the remainder of the pre-buy purchase to the sale price of your home. If you move within the Modern Gas delivery area, your pre-buy gas can be transferred to your new home.
What happens to my price if the market goes up/down?
If the market price per gallon goes above your pre-buy price you will not pay the higher rate. You are locked in at your pre-buy rate. If the market price per gallon goes below your pre-buy price your price is locked at the pre-buy price. Your gallons are purchased through our suppliers and your price will not change no matter how high or low propane might go.
If the market price is lower than my pre-buy price can I get a delivery at the market price and put my contract on hold?
When you pay your pre-buy amount, Modern Gas purchases your propane in full and places it in storage. This storage must be empty by April 30. Because the propane is already purchased from the supplier, for your use, that propane must be delivered to you in full before any other deliveries are made.
